The model in one paragraph

When you subscribe to Premium or Accountant Pro, you get 100 free live API calls and unlimited test-mode calls (using a test_sk_ key). After the trial, API access is a flat ₦9,500 per month for unlimited calls — reads and writes alike. There is no per-call charge.

Test-mode calls are always free — use them freely during development, before and after the trial.

Why a flat fee

We used to bill per write, on a volume-tiered scale. It punished exactly the integrations we most wanted — a busy shop posting an invoice and a receipt for every order could run up more in call charges than its entire accounting subscription. That is a bad deal and a strange incentive: nobody should be economising on bookkeeping accuracy.

So the meter is gone. Build the integration the way it should work, post every document as it happens, and pay one predictable figure. Fair use applies — if your volume is materially beyond what the flat fee anticipates we will contact you to agree a way forward rather than cut you off mid-shift.

Verification lookups are billed separately

The flat fee covers the accounting API — invoices, receipts, customers, reports and everything else you read or write against your own books. It does not cover identity verification, which stays at ₦200 per lookup from your credit wallet. Each of those calls a government or bank database on your behalf and costs us per request, so it cannot sit inside a flat fee.

The billing lifecycle

   Subscribe to Premium or Accountant Pro. Your account is seeded with 100 trial API calls.

   Generate a key in Settings → API & Integrations. Start calling the API — or flip to a test_sk_ key for unlimited free sandbox calls.

   For your first 100 successful live calls, responses include usesTrial: true in the meta block.

   When the trial runs out, add API access for ₦9,500/month in Settings → API & Integrations. Calls are then unlimited.

   Verification lookups (TIN, NIN, NUBAN, CAC) are separate at ₦200 each, drawn from your credit wallet.

These codes are your early-warning system. Handle them gracefully and your integration stays healthy.

Prepay bonus on verification credits

If you use the verification lookups, buying credits in larger lumps earns bonus credit automatically. Applies to any single top-up that crosses the threshold — no commitment, no paperwork. This affects verification only; API access itself is the flat monthly fee.
