Credits & top-ups
Finora Business credits pay for every metered service — API calls, TIN/NIN/NUBAN verification, and CAC lookups — from one shared balance.
Topping up
- 1Sign into the dashboard and open Settings → API & Integrations.
- 2Find the Credit balance card. Pick a top-up amount — ₦5,000, ₦10,000, ₦25,000, ₦50,000, ₦100,000, ₦500,000, or a custom amount.
- 3Top-ups of ₦100,000+ earn a +10% bonus automatically (₦500,000+ earn +15%). The checkout shows the bonus before you pay.
- 4Complete the Paystack checkout. Credits (including the bonus) land on your wallet the moment the payment succeeds.
- 5Your balance updates in real time on the same page.
Low-balance alerts
One email when you cross ₦500
We send a single alert when your balance drops below ₦500. Further alerts are suppressed until you top up and cross the threshold again — so you don't get spammed during a long active period below the line.
What counts against credits
After trial, only writes (POST, PUT, PATCH, DELETE) are billed from your credit balance. Reads (GET) are always free. Verification services have their own costs that come out of the same wallet.
| Operation | Cost |
|---|---|
| REST API read (GET) | Free |
| REST API write — first 10,000 / month | ₦100 |
| REST API write — 10,001 to 50,000 / month | ₦50 (auto) |
| REST API write — 50,000+ / month | ₦25 (auto) |
| TIN / NIN / NUBAN / CAC verification | Check the dashboard for current pricing |
Volume discounts apply automatically — no opt-in, no commitment. The counter resets on the 1st of every month (UTC). Failed writes (4xx or 5xx) consume a trial call but do not deduct credits. Failed reads cost nothing. A 429 rate-limit error is free.
How many writes does my top-up buy?
Every write costs ₦100, ₦50, or ₦25 depending on how many you've made this month. Larger top-ups also earn bonus credit. Here's the math at common top-up amounts:
| You pay | Bonus | Credit in wallet | Writes you can fund |
|---|---|---|---|
| ₦10,000 | — | ₦10,000 | 100 writes @ ₦100 |
| ₦50,000 | — | ₦50,000 | 500 writes @ ₦100 |
| ₦100,000 | +10% | ₦110,000 | 1,100 writes @ ₦100 |
| ₦500,000 | +15% | ₦575,000 | ~10,000 @ ₦100 + ~2,000 more as volume drops to ₦50 |
| ₦1,000,000 | +15% | ₦1,150,000 | 10K @ ₦100, then ~13K more at ₦50 |
| ₦5,000,000 | +15% | ₦5,750,000 | 10K @ ₦100 + 40K @ ₦50 + ~150K @ ₦25 |
The "writes you can fund" column uses that month's volume as the counter. The per-write price drops automatically as you cross 10,000 and 50,000 writes in a month, so heavy users stretch each top-up further than the first row suggests.
When credits run out
Calls return 402 INSUFFICIENT_CREDITS with a message pointing to the top-up page. Your key stays active — you just need to add credit.
Automate top-ups from your side
If your workload is predictable, buy a month's credits at once. If it's bursty, wire the low-balance email to your billing ops so someone tops up before traffic drops. Auto-recharge is on the roadmap.
Enterprise — no per-call billing
Enterprise contracts bypass credit metering entirely. If your volume makes per-call pricing unpredictable, talk to us about a flat-rate plan.
